We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering to join our Robotics Sensors team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, prototyping, and refining sensors that enable our robots to perceive and interact with their environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, and roboticists, to develop state-of-the-art sensor technologies that enhance the capabilities and performance of our robotic systems.
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field and ideally experience in the field of mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience with Solidworks or other CAD/CAE Systems.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) to evaluate mechanical performance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in developing sensors or related products for robotics applications is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- 3D Rendering experience will be considered a plus.
What you will do
- Collaborate with the product team to define product requirements, specifications, and design goals for robotic sensors.
- Create concept sketches, 3D models, and prototypes to test and develop new products.
- Contribute and shape the design workflows and define tools for managing design data.
- Work closely with robotic systems developers to understand better the use case of our products and improve the user experience.
- Perform rigorous testing and validation of sensor prototypes to ensure compliance with quality standards and functional specifications.
- Participate in design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and iterate on designs based on feedback received.
